ENERGY TRANSITION - A CHALLENGE AND AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE LUBUSKIE ECONOMY
On 12 October 2026, the 6th Scientific Conference „Energy and the energy transition as a development challenge for the Lubuskie Voivodeship” was held at the University of Zielona Góra.
The event was attended by Tomasz Pisarek, President of the Management Board of Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone S.A., who took part in the first discussion module, titled „The role of the state in shaping energy policy”, moderated by the originator of the conference, Dr hab. Waldemar Sługocki - Member of the Polish Parliament.
During the discussion, President Tomasz Pisarek drew attention to the importance of the special energy zones project and the need to develop a so-called energy investment readiness map, which would make it possible to identify areas with adequate access to infrastructure and energy capacity, making it easier for investors to take location decisions and strengthening the region's investment competitiveness.
For KSSSE, the energy transition is not only a challenge but also an opportunity to attract new investors and strengthen the region's economic potential.
We thank the organisers for the invitation and for the valuable discussion bringing together the worlds of science, business and public administration!
The conference was attended, among others, by: Grzegorz Potęga, Vice-Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship, Prof. Dr hab. Eng. Justyna Patalas-Maliszewska, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation of the University of Zielona Góra, Vice-Mayors of Zielona Góra Paweł Tonder and Tomasz Winiecki, Arkadiusz Mieczyński, Director of the Transport Infrastructure Department of the Marshal's Office, Deputy Director Sylwia Lewandowska, and many distinguished experts, guests, local government representatives and students of the University of Zielona Góra.
