From Steam to Hydrogen - Gniezno Sets the Direction for Modern Industry
Magdalena Hilszer, Vice President of K-S SSE S.A., took part in the discussion panel "Hydrogen and Business Centre", organised during the conference "From Steam to Hydrogen - Revitalisation through Culture", one of the main organisers of which was the Wielkopolska Chamber of Commerce.
The panel focused on the commercialisation of hydrogen technologies, the decarbonisation of industry and the building of a new energy security architecture for Poland. Participants also discussed the role of large enterprises in creating a zero-emission economy and cooperation between business, science and modern technology hubs.
A special place in the discussion was taken by the concept of establishing a Hydrogen Technology Transfer Centre in Gniezno – a project intended to combine the potential of enterprises, universities and research and development units, supporting the development and implementation of modern technologies.
The Gniezno Roundhouse (Parowozownia Gniezno) – the largest surviving fan-shaped roundhouse complex in Europe – has the chance to become a symbol of the transformation from the age of steam to the age of hydrogen, combining the protection of industrial heritage with the development of an innovative economy.
The Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone has for years supported industrial investment, research and development activity and technology transfer. The establishment of the Hydrogen Technology Transfer Centre may become an important impulse for the development of modern industry and for strengthening cooperation between business and science.
