WHAT IS DEVELOPMENT? HOW CAN WE CHANGE IT?

On 23 April 2026 we had the pleasure of taking part in the meeting „Let's Talk About Development 2.0” in Iłowa. The event was opened by the Mayor of Iłowa – Paweł Lichtański, who welcomed the numerous representatives of institutions and the business community who had gathered.

The meeting brought together a wide range of institutions supporting the development of enterprises and entrepreneurs. Its main aim was to develop a shared view of the challenges and opportunities for the development of the economy of the Lubuskie Voivodeship.

During the event, key issues were discussed, such as:
▪ demographic challenges in the context of the region's economic development,
▪ the role of institutions supporting small and medium-sized enterprises,
▪ the importance of business environment institutions in building a strong economy.

Maciej Borowski, Deputy Director for Marketing and Investor Services at K-S SSE S.A., presented the support opportunities available to entrepreneurs under the Polish Investment Zone.

An important point of the programme was a debate devoted to the biggest development challenges facing municipalities and entrepreneurs in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, with the participation of:

Maciej Siwicki - Deputy Voivode of Lubuskie,

Grzegorz Potęga- Deputy Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship,

Paweł Lichtański- Mayor of Iłowa,

Robert Wróbel – Director of the Statistical Office in Zielona Góra,

Piotr Gawara – Chairman of the Organisation of Employers of the Lubuskie Land,

Tomasz Urbanowicz – JVN Agri Sp. z o.o.,

Tomasz Klimczak – Member of the Management Board and Managing Director of Hermes Fulfilment.

The panel discussion focused on issues related to demographics, resources and communication. Every change in the number of residents carries real consequences for the labour market, the quality of public services and the condition of local entrepreneurship.

The speeches and presentations provided a great deal of concrete data, statistics and information on the available forms of support – including training, loans, grants and state aid.

The high attendance and the presence of representatives of key institutions confirmed the importance of the event and its significant role in shaping economic dialogue in the Lubuskie Voivodeship.
